'Never Alone' is the culmination of a three-year project to document the use of stone angels in cemeteries throughout New Jersey. Each angel was carefully selected for its beauty and craftsmanship. These funerary decorative objects were used in the last decades of the 19th and the early decades of the 20th Century - often commissioned and used by the new waves of immigrant populations arriving from Europe.
In addition to being beautiful works of art, these angels serve an even greater role as guardians watching over lost loved ones - ensuring they are never alone.
